Mrs. Leiva is a native from Honduras who moved to New York in her teens to pursue her education.  She graduated from Baruch College with a Bachelor in Finance and later worked for General Electric in Wall Street bond industry. She was one of the founders of the mentoring program for the Manhattan of Science and Math High School where she was fortunate to be a mentee to high school students to expose and enhance their career opportunities.  It was there where she developed a passion to work with children.  Later, she earned her Master's Degree in education with specialization in Spanish Literature at Brooklyn College.
Mrs. Leiva taught in New York for couple of years and later moved to West Palm Beach county school district where she has been teaching Spanish since 2006.  Outside of school, Mrs. Leiva loves to spend quality time with her husband Oscar, a native from Costa Rica and her two young adult children.
